RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
Our low instructor-to-student ratio ensures individualized attention as your child learns climbing technique in a fun, social environment. Programs are available for kids ages 5 - 13, with activities for all abilities.
Level 1
Level 1 classes are introductory classes, tailored for children who have never received any formal climbing instruction. This is the first step to entering MetroRock youth programs.

Micro Crushers 1 is an introductory class for learning the basics of rock climbing!
This is a 4-week, twice weekly cirriculum for children who have never received any formal climbing instruction.
This program is designed with specific learning objectives and goals that build upon each other throughout the session to create a solid foundation of climbing skills and prepare participants for future programs at MetroRock Newburyport.
Participants are encouraged to continue on to Micro Crushers 2 after completing this program.

Week 2 - Climbing Holds, Hold Directionality, and Wall Angles
Week 3 - Using Your Legs and Feet

Level 2
Level 2 classes are ongoing programs for climbers who have completed Level 1, are looking to enjoy climbing recreationally, and are eager to build upon their current abilities in a supportive and relaxed environment.

This team is a great for anyone who enjoys climbing recreationally, or athletes who participate in multiple sports or extracurricular activities. From bouldering to top rope climbing, this program will offer a wide range of climbing experiences to broaden your skill set!

All Level 1 programs have a membership included in the price. Level 2 classes require the setup of a month-to-month EFT membership. Membership perks include rental gear being included even outside of regular class time, 20% off retail gear, and EFT members get 1 guest pass per month.

Yes! You can call the Front Desk 978-499-7625 to schedule a drop-in. The drop in rate varies per class.

Absolutely! We will give you a pro-rated amount if you need to sign up for our level 2 classes mid-month, so you will either need to call and ask for Alisha or Moose, or email alisha@metrorock.com & moose@metrorock.com.

No! Programs do NOT meet during school vacation weeks or holidays but DO meet on single day holidays.

YES! Our Level 1 programs are tailored specifically for absolute beginners to climbing. If you are concerned your kid may not enjoy the sport, we invite you to visit any time and purchase a day pass. We also offer drop-in spots. Please call the Front Desk to schedule a drop-in 978-499-7625

No! Shoes and harness are included in the cost of the class, even outside of regular class hours.

Refund policy: If you need to cancel an event, we offer a full refund if the cancellation occurs 21 days or more before the event. If you are altering your booking within that period, we are happy to offer a credit for use at MetroRock, minus the deposit. We will not offer a refund for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours before the event.
